11,000HP, 330MPH for 3.8 seconds. Attending a NHRA nitro event is an experience all Motorsports enthusiasts need in their portfolio. NHRA drag racing is Motorsport sensory on steroids. The smell of the nitromethane will take your breath, you’ll smell more burnt rubber in one second than a whole NASCAR weekend. The most powerful is the sound! I live 15mins or 9 miles from Lucas Oil Raceway where the NHRA U.S nationals are held, I know every day of the summer they are testing by the sound! UNREAL!
Sensory aside, my spirit was lifted by how nice all of the competitors were. Most drivers gave me a hello or a wink, smile. Some times being a photographer and person who is sensitive to people who are often bothered, they could not be more gracious and polite!
Back to the speed, these things are wicked! Words can not describe seeing these machines in action. If you enjoy any form of Motorsport you have to go see NHRA Top Fuel Funnycars and Dragsters when they are in your area!
